CABLE DIMENSIONS
To ensure correct start and operating conditions minimum 6 mm cable to be used. Always wire direct from battery and preferably through a 10 amp circuit breaker and make sure the earth is back to the battery and not the chasse. A variety of plug and socket assemblies are available from auto electrical retailers and or suppliers and should be rated at a minimum of 10 amp.
Allow free access of air around refrigerator compressor compartment for efficient operation. The refrigerator condenser is fitted with a fan to assist cooling of the condenser. Refrain from operating the refrigerator at an angle exceeding 30 degrees as damage to the cooling system could occur. If using the unit as a refrigerator set thermostat to-1 C. Items in the middle of the refrigerator will then be at a temperature of approximately +2C
.

REMOVAL OF LIDS/COLLAR
- Slide standard lid to the left and remove.
- Slide on High-Lid/extension collar.
- Release tension on all 12 hinge screws.
- Close lid/extension collar and clip down.
- Re-tention screws with High-lid/extension collar in clipped down position.
HOW TO OPERATE THE THERMOSTAT

-
BATTERY COMPARTMENT:
Use 2X AA heavy duty Batteries. Note: New models no longer require the AA batteries -
LCD:
(Liquid Crystal Display). Direct temperature display for the inside temperature fitted with blue back light. -
SET SWITCH:
Function key to set the desired temperature or max cool function. Also used to display the users set temperature when pressed. -
C AND F DISPLAY:
Pressing this button changes between C or F reading. -
UP SWITCH
Pressing this switch together with the set switch will increase the temperature setting by 1C intervals. -
OPERATION SWITCH:
Main on/off switch for the Bushman. -
POWER ON INDICATOR LAMP:
The red light will stay on when the operation switch is in the "on" position. -
DOWN SWITCH:
Pressing this switch together with the set switch will decrease the temperature setting by 1 C intervals. Holding the two switches for one second or more will automatically decrease the temperature setting to max cool temperature (-22 C). -
RESET SWITCH:
To reset the display if the display is malfunctioning. -
MAX COOL SWITCH:
Pressing this switch together with the set switch will automatically set the temperature to max cool temperature. Tapping it once will take it to -18 C twice -20 C three times -22 C. -
ENERGY SAVING INDICATOR:
The green light will stay on when the fridge has reached its set temperature.
OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Plug into the D.C power source per the specified rating (DC 12 V).
- Press power switch to on position and the power indicator lights up.
- To display set temperature: hold down the set switch and your set temperature will be displayed
-
To set the temperature:
A: To set lower temperature: Press "down" switch together with set switch.
The display will start to count down until the required temperature is reached. Then release both switches. (The max cool temperature is-22 C.)B: To set upper temperature: Press "up" switch together with set switch. The display will start to count up until the required temperature is reached. Then release both switches (The maximum temperature is +10 C).
COMPRESSOR PROTECTIONS
- Fan over current: protects the compressor and the electronic driver against fan over current due to start or running overload, or short-circuit.
- Starting Failure: if the running speed is not achieved during the starting sequence, the unit is stopped and start up is retried after one minute.
- Compressor overload: this protection operates when the compressor speed drops below the set up speed, or when the current draw is excessive, thus preventing the fridge from operating under overload conditions, which may cause refrigerating overload or compressor failure.
- Electronic driver overheat: if the temperature of the control's electronic components becomes too high, an internal sensor will stop the unit
In case of overheating, one automatic attempt to restart the compressor is allowed. In case of battery protection, the number of automatic attempts to restart is not limited. In case of any other protection occurring, two automatic attempts to restart the compressor are allowed. Once the sequence of automatic attempts to restart the compressor is finished, the unit will remain unable to operate until it is switched off and on again. The intervention of the thermostat during the sequence of automatic restart attempts interrupts and resets the sequence
